Leadership

Being a design leader is a privilege and an honor that I take seriously. I recognize the importance of moving the business forward while building high-performing teams and oftentimes coaching the next generation of design leaders. The relationships that my teams and I have forged over the years continue to be the most rewarding experiences of my career.

My Core Values

Trust

I trust not only my team but also the data and decision-making processes we rely on.  I practice and advocate for open communication and make sure to share insights and gather feedback on the mission & vision of the team.

Innovation

I continually push myself and my teammates in our craft. Our job is to continually test our hypotheses about what offerings, features, and enhancements will deliver customer value. I build teams and encourage individuals to think differently.

Collaboration

To facilitate collaboration, I often rely on regular stand-ups, where the team shares their deliverables and targets with one another, as well as what they need help with.

Career Development

Keeping teammates engaged and working at a high level requires clarity on what paths are available to them. Marrying the needs of the individual and the business is crucial. When an individual has opportunities to learn, grow, and try new things, everyone benefits.

Coaching

My role as leader is to remove obstacles and coach teams on problem-solving. More specifically, I tailor my approach to each individual I work with so their needs are met and they get the most out of their career.

Work/Life Balance

In order for an individual to perform at his or her best, there needs to be time allotted for unwinding. I prioritize a designer’s ability to unplug and recharge to get them thinking clearly and efficiently during crunch time.
